  1. Pleasantly Surprised 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Feb 2019

I have worked as a flight medic, and SWAT medic for 30 years. I needed a small monitor to take in the field and on "trips" for myself and my colleagues. I was in a hurry when I found this in stock so I ordered it. It far exceeds my expectations. Anyone who understands the principles and physiology behind ECG's will be able to use this for monitoring...even 12 leads if you are patient enough to run one lead at a time. I have this unit quite a bit now, and just returned from my first travels with it. It has not disappointed me.
If you are resourceful, it can serve many purposes.
When I first received the unit, I placed the electrodes, went for a ten mile bike ride and did a basic stress test on myself.
Great unit. Hope it holds up!

  2. Excellent product 5 Star Review

Exactly as advertised. Shipping was remarkably fast. Unit is light-weight, easy to use, starts quickly. easy to visualize output, intuitive controls. Very happy with this product.

  3. Electrode Problems 3 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Jan 2016

Purchased a PC-80B in August 2014. Less than a year after purchase the monitor started having problems recognizing the electrodes, although it does work with the hand contacts. BP Monitor Depot sent me a second set of electrodes, those had the same problem. Couldn't get a response back from the company. Now the monitor is out of warranty.

  4. Very satisfied with the ECG monitor 4 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Dec 2015

My order was sent very quickly, especially since it was the Christmas holidays. The monitor has performed exceptionally well as a hand monitor and detected PVC that occur regularly or intermittently. I am currently using it as a continuous monitor. The only reason I did not give five stars is due to the instructions/manual. I found a review by Grier at NDSU that was very helpful. One thing that was not clear was that ECG analysis by the software depended on whether the measurement was single or continuous, and that continuous measurement is determined by simply plugging in the leads. Nevertheless I am very satisfied that I will have information for my doctor to show what happens when I am not in his office.

  5. Works As Advertized 4 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Dec 2015

I purchased this after reading a pretty detailed review (https://www.ndsu.edu/pubweb/~grier/Comparison-handheld-ECG-EKG.html). It works as advertised. The included software was easy to use. My only disappointment is that I have to hold still to get a good ECG while wearing the electrodes. If I bump the electrode wires at all the ECG wave jumps wildly. I was hope to use this while exercising.

  6. Easy to use. works great. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Nov 2015

I got this after reading several review of these products. when we got it, i stuck the batteries in, read the quick instructions, had my husband hold it at the right position and right away we were able to see the ekg on the screen. Pretty cool. It saves the reading too so you can recall them should you want to share with your doctor. It has a little interpretation after each reading to tell you if the beat is irregular or not. I think its a great product. I was skeptical but it works great. I have only had it a week so I cannot rate durability.

  7. Recommended for arrhythymias and single lead exercise testing. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Apr 2015

The service was incredible. I ordered it @ 2:30 PM on Friday, and it arrived with the Saturday AM mail in Skokie.
The size, weight, and shape are all as advertised. There is no SD card slot. I think earlier models had a slot. The internal memory will hold 6 hours of ECG. The instructions are good. The USB interface with the computer is fast and reliable and intuitive. I don't have the blue tooth model. The tracings are good, good enough to evaluate the ST segments during exercise. Some maneuvers may be needed to avoid artifacts during active exercise. I hope to get better exercise performance from better adhering replacements. The naming of the electrodes is either incorrect or confusing. There is a website by James W Grier from North Dakota State University that deals with this matter, and I have followed his advice in renaming the electrodes. I had thought that a 3 electrode lead would be better than 2, but all 3 electrodes have to make good contact, so I would say they are equal. I am a physician so I did not look at the interpretations. During exercise it suggested premature beats which were normal and not premature.
In summary, I recommend this device. It is competent and easy to use. It can be used for arrhythmia detection and single lead exercise testing.

  8. Great monitor ... instructions could be better 4 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Mar 2015

First the monitor itself rates 5 stars and the software once running is good. The instructions for the 3 lead wire are a bit confusing. Did not realize there are 3 ways to use the leads ... I ended up using the type II wiring which seems to be standard. Also the default setting is "wireless" transmission ON. When this is ON the unit does not save the recording when using the 3 lead capability. The final issue was the software install. Make sure you pick the right version ... check the unit's version in settings and read the "readme" on the software install screen to select the right version. In summary I am very happy with the unit and ordering from Blood Pressure Monitoring Depot.

  9. Good Little portable ECG 4 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Dec 2014

Does what it is supposed to do rather well. Price is great, and very small and transportable. Does have more interference with respiration cycle than I expected. Perhaps it is not as good with some of those algorithms that hospital monitors have, but it does the trick if the person being examined is still, and not "freaking out" with chest pain and heavy breathing. It has a very clear display for the rhythm. I have not hooked it up to the computer or saved and examined data that way. My only purpose for it was to have an on-point rhythm check system for me and my family who have heart disease. I am a nurse anesthetist. I am happy with my purchase.
Some drawbacks: the clarity is not great if you use the metal palm leads on the sides of the device. The best read is with the 3-lead cable, and it is very good with that. There is a bit of a delay with the initial reading, but I supposed the internal computer has to measure and calibrate to get the electricity reading on the right scale for presentation. A hospital monitor takes approximately the same time.
